Hi, folks. Just got a new Golden 39A. In many ways, it is the .22 of my dreams. Solid as a rock, all-American, nicely finished, shoulders securely and comfortably, points great, looks great. The lever action is very smooth: I cycled 100 rounds of .22 LR through it last night with no hitches.

Unfortunately, the trigger, while crisp, is something of a brick. It is just outside my comfort range of "yeah, that's kinda heavy, but no big deal" -- it is a real distraction. I need to lighten it.

No need for a featherweight pull, I just want an honest four pounds.

How should I go about this? Not sure my gunsmith will do it. The aftermarket companies like Rifle Basix don't seem to make a 39A "target trigger."

A Fellow on the Marlin Owners forum suggested that Marlin itself will do it. Can anyone confirm?

Your thoughts much appreciated.
