Marlin experts can you help me out?

Picked up a Marlin 39a .22 rimfire with a 24 inch heavy barrel. It is labeled as a "Golden" rifle but does not have a gold colored trigger. It has not been modified according to my FFL/gunsmith.

Any ideas if it is a rare bird or what?
