I did, sorry. My memory is not what it usd to be...apparently!
 
My normal carry gun is a 1911 (kinda) that does not lock the slide with it's safety. You can, in fact clear the pistol with the safety on. And yes, I do place my thumb on the back of the slide whilst reholstering. Of course I do that with any "real" 1911 cuz I'd rather the hammer fall on my thumb than chance an ND.

My "kinda" 1911 is an STI LS. It has no barrel link or bushing, either.
