sig228:
Respectfully, I have found out that "Gun Tests" magazine findings, and the findings of those Sunday morning movie reviewers have one thing in common..
IF they rate a gun, or movie, highly, I generally find I don't care for it... Weird, eh? (and visa versa)....
I'm not anti-KelTec, as in years past I had a very good P32, and P11, but if the PF9 is any better than my Ruger LC9 has been, I'd be very, very surprised.
I'm glad we all have options, and for those folks who like KelTec's, I'd say the PF9 will suit them perfectly... But at the same time I'd venture a guess that folks who like Ruger's will be equally happy with the LC9..
For me personally, my LC9 has been absolutely reliable right out of the box (as has my buddy's who led me to buy mine).. Surprisingly accurate, and good enough for cc duty to send my HK P2000sk to the gun safe.
I would suggest anyone with no experience with either the KelTec or Ruger spend a little time on the various firearm forums using the "search" function inquiring about BOTH choices (actually when comparing ANY two different firearm choices) as I prefer input from actual owners, (and bunches of 'em) to a review in ANY gun magazine, or magazines.
I subscribed to "Gun Tests" years ago, but MY experiences with some of the guns they tested were contrary to the findings of the Gun Test reviewers which led me to lose faith in their findings.
FWIW, from personal experience with my two previous KelTec's, I would think the PF9 is probably a very good pistol.. I KNOW my LC9 is..
No offense, not confrontin', just conversin'..
Best Wishes,
Jesse
