You might want to give 300 MP a try, I shoot nothing but full house, so I'm going to. I've also been seeing it on the shelves locally also. But at present, and for the last 3 decades or so, I've been using 296 / H110, which has thus far been the top fog for full house magnum IME.

Seems like 4227 has been hitting the shelves with some regularity. While looking for pistol powder I stumbled upon a good supply at my local mom and pop shop. I do load for 357, and have just started getting stuff to start loading 22-250. Looks like there are some loads that will also work with 4227. Has anyone else had any experience loading 22-250 with 4227? I like to stock powders that have multiple uses...

I've used it in 44mag for rifles, and revolvers As well as in 357mag revolvers.

My most accurate load in 44mag is a 240gr XTP over a pretty warm load of 4227. It groups great out of my revolvers and my carbine.

Works great on deer too! Saved alot of meat compared to the 12ga 3" sabot my buddy uses.

I don't think 4227 will work very well in 22-250. It is too fast for that cartridge. Hodgdon does not list any data with it in 22-250. 22 Hornet yes, but not 22-250. It may work with reduced cast bullet loads in 22-250, Lyman does have data for one lead bullet but none with jacketed. There are plenty of rifle powders on the shelves appropriate for 22-250 though.

I really like 4227 in heavy 45 Colt. I've used it in 357 and it is very accurate in it but I can get the same velocities with half as much Universal, and they make for accurate loads too, with less recoil to boot. 4227 will keep your 357 running until this shortage passes, if it ever does...

IMR 4227 made in Canada. 357 mag.

Test fired a few with 14.5 gr and 15.0gr with home cast 158gr lswc, Win mag primer. More smoke than 2400, but seems ok so far for accuracy.

4227 is my go to powder for 357 Maximum and 500 S&W Mag.

Its burn rate fits these cartridges better than it does 357 Mag and 44 Mag.

I've had no trouble getting any powder here for quite some time, but I've been curios about Alliant 300 MP as well. One thing I cannot find is whether you can reduce loads with it as it seems to be more like 110/296.

I just recently bought 1# of 300 MP but have not yet worked up any loads. I'm quite new to 357mag and have just started to load for it with 2400. The only thing I've heard and read about 300 MP is that it is temperature sensitive.
