I find that hard to believe!

You see, most Americans want the president to honor his duty to keep America safe... a small portion of the nation questions his motives.

Based strictly on what you are claiming, the president should have said, "Sorry... I can't keep you safe! Because I can't act and interdict terrorism before it happens, you Americans are all in grave danger." That is not what he did, thank God. Instead he acted. He made us safe.

Now if you want to continue to question his motives, feel free. Understand you are in the minority however.

Just my thoughts.

"Conservative" has nothing to do with whether or not your willing to fight a war. F.D.R. for example was a Democrat and he led us in WWII.

Conservatism is defined as "The inclination, especially in politics, to maintain the existing or traditional order." The patriot act isn't very compatible with the constitution. The constitution is the "existing or traditional order".

Another definition of conservatism is "Caution or moderation, as in behavior or outlook."

I don't think of the word "moderation" when I think of Bush. He's a great guy and I do agree with fighting and killing terrorists and all that. But he's no conservative. I think Savage once said "The Democrat party is the socialist party of tomorrow and the Republican party is the Democrat party of yesterday."

Here's a visual aid the way I see it:

The one thing that I have always admired (and could in no way comprehend) was the unquestionable support for Bush, come hell or high water [pun intended].

That's kinda like so many appearing to believe it unthinkable to acknowledge that GW could do or say anything right. So where does that leave us? Somewhere near 50-50 most likely. I don't think it is a coincedence that those percentages are about the same as the election tallies. People stand by their votes. They probably would change their minds if given hard evidence of blatant dirty business. George Bush is no Watergate.

if we surrender our rights to have a more secure feeling the terrorists have WON!!!
Just my .02

+1, plus we won't be any more secure. The only way to have peace, is with superior firepower and the willingness to use it. Gee wasn't that a motto I head someplace?:D

What are you talking about? Unalienable rights cannot be taken away by any person, entity or government.

True, but those entities can make the exercise extremely expensive, perhaps even fatal.

I just wanted to clarify my position on this article: it is utter tripe.

Junaid M. Afeef is a traitor to the US Constitution, the American People, and the Human Race in general. He deserves nothing more than to be covered in tar, feathered, and thrown in stocks in the nearest town square where he should be mocked around the clock by all good passerby.

He is the foulest sort of man. A small-minded coward.

And should anyone be watching: Domestic spying, or being party to it, is no better.
