Incredible Results New Nosler Liberty

I tried some VLD type bullets in a 25-06 about 3 years ago that had a similar result. They were the type with the really long tapered nose and a long boattail on the back. The bullets would show keyhole impact on a target at 200 meters and shot horrible groups. I was pushing them really fast which could have contributed to the problem. From that experience I decided to stay with more traditional bullets like the Sierra GameKing and stay away from the long slender VLD bullets intended for long range target shooting.

The .25s have a slow twist, with all factory guns (as far as I know) being marginal with the Berger 115VLDs.
The faster you can drive them, and the cleaner they leave the barrel, the more likely they are to stabilize, but stability at range can still suffer.
My .250AI would drive them at 3040, and they were both stable and accurate, but I don't know how far they kept stability.
It's the one real down side to the quarter bores.

The twist being off on Danrabs 6mm woulda caused the same issues. As that cartridge is based around vld type bullets.

Actually the Berger 115 VLD shot well in both of my 25-06 rifles. The bullet I had the problem with was the 120 grain Speer boattail and they were the only bullets I have ever used that started to keyhole at 200 meters. I still have several boxes of Speer 120 grain HotCor flat base bullets and they shoot good in my rifles and I have shot target groups out to 500 yards. I was really disappointed with the boattails and haven't bought any more of them. I also like the Sierra Gameking and ProHunter 117 grain and both have the traditional design.
