I'm going to be in Indiana for a few days this weekend, in the Indy area. Does anyone know IN's law on out of state residents purchasing a handgun?
Prices around here are a little high, and I rarely have time to get out and shop, but I will this weekend while in IN.
Thanks

You can buy one, but it must be sent by the seller, or an IN FFL, to a dealer in VA where you will do the usual paperwork before you can pick it up. Plus, you will have to make arrangements with the VA dealer before it is shipped. Considering that most dealers charge a fee for transactions, plus the shipping cost, it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Is it not like that everywhere?

I live in IN, but do most of my shopping(especially handguns) in KY, and I have to get it shipped to my FFL which as a favor goes to this guys shop and picks up everyones guns in my area and just charges $10.00 for the favor.

I don't suppose the KY dealer in question is Bud's Gun Shop and the IN dealer is located close(-ish) to Indy. That would be way too convenient.

Nope, the KY dealer is Whittaker Guns, and the FFL is just a retired Sheriff that runs a small gun repair shop, and just drives to (near) Owensboro and picks up guns in the Evansville(Southern Indiana) area.

It ends up saving me a decent amount of money in shipping charges and transfer fees.
