I have my CCW in Oklahoma and am traveling to Minnesota tomorrow. I have to go through Indiana. I know that the Oklahoma license does not have reciprocity in Indiana. What is the legal way to transport a handgun in that state?

Thanks for your help. This site has been particularly beneficial to me.

Indiana recognizes all CCWs

Indiana recognizes all CCWs from any governmental entity.

That would include Oklahoma, New Jersey, California, Florida, Germany, Iraq, and Japan.

Go to www.handgunlaw.us to verify for yourself.

I guess I need to work on my geography. I am going through Iowa - not Indiana.

Okay, Iowa

Then all you need to do is follow the provisions of the "Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986", passed by Congress and signed into law by Reagan.

Essentially, the law states that you must lock your gun in the trunk of your car.
