Indiana firefighter shoots neighbor 4 times in the chest and he lives- Gun type?

Maybe the fireman's/shooter's wife was also near the neighbor's potential line of fire.
If so, that could be enough to induce the guy to pull out a handgun.

The fact that both were armed is interesting. Whoever was first seen 'carrying' on their property, days before this encounter, easily could have prompted the other neighbor to always do so.
 
"Sucking chest wound" so I'd say one was a lung shot.

Wasn't his gun, gun belonged to the homeowner.
