I moved from Louisville KY to Sellersburg, IN back in April. I've held a KY CCW permit since June 2005, and my permit expires June 2010.
I haven't been carrying since moving, and finally today got around to calling the Sellersburg PD. They told me I should be good with my KY permit due to the reciprocity and should apply for a IN permit within 180 days of my KY permit expiring.
Wanting to confirm as my KY permit obviously does not have my IN address on it, I called the Clark Co. Sheriff, and the person I talked to had no idea, telling me to call ISP to make sure and giving me a phone number. I call the number, and find its the state real estate office :banghead:
Going to the ISP website, I cannot find it addressed ANYWHERE if you hold a CCW from another state, then move to Indiana, if you are okay to use the previously issued CCW even as a new Indiana resident or if you have to get an Indiana permit regardless.
I want to make sure I'm legal - anybody have a clue???
