Was at the gunshop the other day with buddy. Looking at cheap shotguns for trunk use and other tasks.

For me shotguns have to shoot slugs well, I don't shoot birds or clay pigeons. Only use shotguns for deer hunting and SD. My buddy mentioned that many people here had reported good results with slugs using rifled choke tubes.

I have never used choke tubes, let alone rifled ones. Was looking for information. Are there any of modest priced doubles that use choke tubes?

Glamdring,
As a rule doubles rarely print slugs to the same point of impact, cheap doubles only worsen the problem. At ranges a double is likely to be accurate with slugs a rifled choke tube will probably only serve to lighten your wallet and screw up your shot patterns, which defeats the purpose of using a shotty for a truck gun.
My best advise for a dedicated truck gun would be to pick the pump of your choice (I lean towards the Ithica 37 and Benelli Nova) and find a foster style slug that shoots acceptable from an improved cylinder choke.
Nothing against doubles, I just don't think you will be satisfied with a double for you application.
HTH,
Matt

Matt nailed it. Some doubles do OK with one barrel, but the other will impact in a different Zip Code.

A good pump is a better choice for slugs and GP use.
