Inexpensive Optics for an XS-7?

The Vortex and Sightrons would probably interest me more if I didn't prefer a fixed power scope so much. I don't really like using a scope in the first place; however with this rifle, there are only three choices - scope, gunsmith iron sights, don't use. At this point, I'm willing to try a fixed power scope though I may shift to an unmagnified red dot before deer season here in Wisconsin depending on how the Weaver shoots for me.

I still have not completely passed on the idea of getting a front ramp & receiver peep from Williams though...
