Dear group,

Hello. I am looking to buy a Century Arms WASR-10 "AK" (7.62x39) Hi-Cap.

However, I have seen this rifle run the spectrum from $175 to $450 and I am looking for one preferably in that 1st side of the spectrum ;). I've checked with the majority of my local dealers, but most don't seem to carry them, and if they do, are priced on average for about $500! ...

Might anyone know of a good online source for one of these rifles (in the standard configuration with no bells or whistles) in a very inexpensive price range?

Thank you for all for your assistance and God bless.

God bless,
Joshua R. Smith

Bear in mind that most of the real bargain WASRs that you see advertised are still in single-stack configuration and will need to be converted for double-stack use. You *might* be able to find a double stack WASR for $300, but most of the current production units are going for $350 or better. That's actually not a bad deal, since the new units are post-ban (bayo lug, threaded muzzle, etc.) and have the G2 trigger group ($40 from Tapco or most other sources) already installed.

get a copy of SHOTGUN NEWS ya will find quite a few sources, the latest edition has an ad for Iter-ordinence they are having their own version assembled in Romania that is much nicer and selling in the $350 area also ya can find a much better rifle (all milspec parts as opposed to factory seconds parts for the wasr rifles) for around $400 built from actual military issued parts kits on USA recievers, Center fire systems last flyer had Polish versions for $419 I believe and the Yugos are an excellent rifle being built on the best reciever ya can get Nodak spuds, Any of these rifles even though slightly higher price are 100% better quality than a WASR10.

Dunhams: $299.00

Dunhams: $299.00...the advertisement just came out this past Sunday.

Thank you all!

Thank you all for your great replies!

Just yesterday I came across this finding on Sarco: http://www.sarcoinc.com/rifles.html#ak

Has anyone purchased this from them? I'm pretty sure Sarco has a noble reputation. This one seems to suits my needs as it has a standard, no modifications, bells or whistles AK for $274.

Your insight is highly appreciated. Thank you all once again.

God bless,

Sarco.com is out of NJ while Classicarms.us is in NC.

I've purchased ammo over the years from Classic Arms and they've been quick to ship, very easy to deal with. I'm looking at another 8mm Mauser from them.

My JLD PTR-91 just came in a weeks ago from Sarco...they still have a few left for $795. Nice rifle, quite happy with it. It took them a week before they shipped my rifle, I called to check whether they had shipped it a few times...they did mention that they were having problems with their shipping department (?) So it was a little longer wait but a good deal.

Either one will be a good source. Both have very comparable rates for very similarly configured WASR-10's
