I have a chance to snag one of these for $120....I havent got the pics yet but the guy said its in decent shape and still functional....He is selling it for an old lady who's husband recently passed away and she just wants it gone....I know NOTHING about this rifle....any info and insight would be greatly appreciated.... What should I look for when I go to look at it? Did they have noted problems of any kind?? Where would I get ammo for it? Thanks in advance!!!

I researched it a bit but found little....From what I understand its a muzzleloader that was converted to fire a metal cartridge with a 480 gr bullet.....effective range is 600 to 2000 yards lol....I have learned that some models did not have wood going to the end of the barrell, there were 1 band, 2 band, and 3 band models.....3 band meaning wood right to the muzzle.....i kinda like the history on this rifle....

Effective range 600 yd
Maximum range 2,000 yd.

Don't get in front of a rifle company using indirect plunging fire.
The beaten zone at 600+ plus yards would be hazardous to your health & welfare.
