Info on Ruger M77 MarkII frontier

I was browsing the ruger website and ran across the M77 MarkII Frontier.

I like what i see but as alwayswould like second opinions on them.

The one im looking at is in .308 with the 17 inch barrel.

How well does the .308 do out of a 16 inch barrel?

And how acurate is this model?

I really like the scout feature and would like to have a scout style rifle for my collection.

It looks like a decent rifle, though personally I'd prefer a longer barrel.
