Ruger M77 Frontier (scout) rifle 2005!

Ruger is releasing a scout version if it's model 77 bolt action rifles.....It is a M77 with a 16.5" barrel, scout mounting system, in 4 calibers including .308.

has anyone had a Model 77? I am thinking of getting one in .308 but only if they are accurate and durable. Tell me what you think of your model 77....

I handled one the other day at my dealer, I want to say in .243. It seemed like it would handle well due to the length, but it seemed awfully front heavy to me. Overall it was pretty nice, good blueing and smooth action.

I like the fact Ruger's building them, but they've forgotten one of the major characteristics of the Scouts--backup iron sights.

I'd like to see them put the same sight setup on the Frontier that they have on the Mini-14 (ghost ring rear, barrel band front post). That would be the bee's knees...
