Most of my experience with shotguns has been with genuine combat shotguns. I've also done quite a bit of 3 gun and using a borrowed side by side hammer for Cowboy Action Shooting, but my clay experience is rather limited. I've at most "tried my hand" at it, most often with a borrowed Baikal and once or twice a better weapon.

Anyway i'm rather interested in getting my wife and I a couple of over and unders. She's darn good at all the clay disciplines. So I made a flying visit to my pet gunstore to assess prices as it is getting close to Xmas(i'd need to save up for them) and i saw a gun i don't think i would ever buy :)

The gun was an unmarked blued metal and possibly synthetic wood over and under chambered in 2 3/4" 12 guage with double triggers. The only markings on it was a serial number under the barrel and a different number stamped on the trigger guard. The whole gun felt extra light, if i didn't think it was impossible i'd say the whole thing was made of aluminium. It pointed and shouldered wonderfully, but LOP/grip was only good for the back trigger, the front one was horrible.

But non of that is really out of the ordinary. How it worked was cause for concern. On the right side of the frame was a lever that rotated 180 Degrees forward, which unlocked the action. To open it you slid the barrels forward. (i suppose you could also say slide the stock back, whatever, the gun broke open by sliding the front and back apart.) Both barrels looked like they ejected regardless of them being fired or not.

With the weapon locked up, there was lots of play in the barrels.

I couldn't get any more info on it because as i picked it up the shop got busy and there was only one sales person and i needed to run.

Anyone know anything about this or this type of weapon? It almost had a zip gun type of feel to it. But a well finished zip gun? ! ? It felt very very basic.

If i lived in a country like the States i'd pick it up for gits and shiggles. Don't know how i'd feel shooting it :) but in this country the process of getting a license prohibits just for the hell of it purchases :(
