Local gun shop has both a Sig 2022 and Taurus Ti 609, both in 9mm. They are only about 20.00 appart. I really like the trigger of the Taurus, where you pull back on the trigger to a cerain point before it become stiff and fires. I own, and carry daily a Taurus Millennium PRO in .45ACP. It is the same way, and I am familiar with their workings in the upper slide (I've polished the face of the extractor to make sure it is 100% reliablabe in no FTF or FTE. It is that. I also own a Taurus Millenium PRO in 9mm with the 2 10shot magazines. They both are simliar to work and function and both are (my opinion) excellent pistols. The 9mm I own, though has a smaller grip. I got it originally for 2 purposes. One, the wife is recoil sensitive and I thought this migh be an option that she would have for shooting other than her Bersa .380. Other option is I thought that I might use it for carry, since it fits my CrossBreed holster just fine *same as the .45ACP.

My wife doesn't shoot enough to really count, in fact, she hasn't even shot this new 9mm yet. And the weight of the 9mm is the same as the .45ACP, so there's no advantage, and I'm good with both so the .45ACP has an advantage over the 9mm. The Titanium mode of this type of pistol, though, is much lighter. It would be an improvement over the .45ACP for carry and it has a 13 round magazine.

The Sig Sauer is also a nice pistols, priced at just $519.00 It too has a larger capacity of 15 rounds +1. It is a SA/DA pistol and about the same weight at my .45ACP, and very cleanly made(opinion). I've not shot one, but I have shot the Millennium PRO and 24/7 PRO series of the Taurus, of which I am impressed.

Just looking for feedback on anyone that has use/owned/shot one of these pistols, and your opinion on them.

I have only one older Taurus, a 99AF that I like a lot. Other than that I can't comment on your Tauri. I do have a sig 2022, and I love it. I had to buy the large grip insert for $15, and it completely transformed the gun for me. It is a fantastic shooter & my full-sized carry choice. It has never had a failure of any kind, but I have fewer than 500 rounds through it, all ball ammo. Holster availability is horrendous. I had to special order a High Noon rig that took 5 months to get.

Many tend to lump all Sig tupperware into the same basket. The 2022 is pretty much a 226 w/ a plastic frame; the P250 is, for what I have read, horrendous; a failed expirement in modular function. +1000 for the 2022.

The trigger design of the P2022 is completely different than the P226. It have a much longer DA pull than the P226.

I too voted for the P2022. Even at todays prices of $500 it is a bargain. It was a steal at $400 which is what they were a year+ ago.

Did not mean to imply it was identical to the 226; thanks for the clarification. I agree with the price; for $500, I would prefer a G19. But at the $389.00 screaming sale price academy had on the 2022 when I picked mine up, it was a no-brainer.

I agree the Glock 19 in that price range cannot be ignored. If it fits you it is a perfect combination of capacity and practical fighting ability.

One thing to consider, also, is the carry of the two. The Taurus 9mm Titanium is a lot lighter than the Sig. I do like an exposed hammer on a pistol, and that one is kind of a mofied "bob" on the Sig 2022. Designed for the French Police in 2002 for a 20 year service, hence the designation of 2022.

Nothing wrong with the SIG pistol. It is a excellent choice, but so is the 609.

I own the 609's kin, the PT111 Mil Pro, the PT709, and the PT132 Mil Pro.

Well, it's a done deal now. I now have the Sig Sauer SP2022-9-BBS model with the nitesights. Traded off my Taurus and an old Ruger 22 pistol for it, with a little cash. But, it's under the Christmas tree now!!! Wife says I neede someting under the tree. I guess I can't complain, at least she isn't bitching and complaining that I bought it. Company I work for gave out Christmas bonuses today... so you all now know how I spent my Christmas bonus. LOL

Maybe if I got a bag of socks or something else I can substitute it under the tree. Agonizing to walk by and not hold that pistol or go out and shoot it.
