Installing a Sig brace

I'm currently putting together an AR pistol. I'm using a PSA pistol buffer tube on a stripped lower and have a Sig brace. I can get the brace about half way on the tube and that's about it. Has anyone tried this? Is there a lube that will slick up the tube long enough the install the brace and then hold it tight after install?

Try soapy water. When it dries it will no longer be slippery.

I had to remove the buffer tube, set it on a scrap of wood and beat the brace on with a rubber mallet. Soap and Break-Free didn't do it.

The OD of pistol buffer tubes isn't in any spec I'm aware of, but the brace instructions said "fits tubes 1.23-1.25" O.D." if I remember correctly my tube measured 1.26" was a PITA to get on but it hasn't budged.

Hairspray is the 'go-to' lubricant for installing rubber, plastic, and foam grips on bicycle handlebars. Slide right on when it's wet - stay put when dry.
