installing burris zee rings

im trying to mount some burris zee rings on a weaver base, but they fit loose even after i tighten down the screw. whats the trick to installing these?

Are they real Weaver brand bases?
Or some cheap off-shore copys that only look like real Weaver bases?

Other then that, I don't have a clue what the problem might be.

i think theyre made by marlin. several other weaver rings i have fit the base fine, including weaver brand rings. but those are all side clamp screw adjustable style. the zee rings arnt adjustable that way, ive never seen anything like them. maybe theyre only compatible with a larger burris made weaver base?

I've only dealt with one pair of Zee rings. Not only were they a PITA to get on and off the base, they weren't aligned well and would have required industrial lapping. They were discarded. I don't like the concept in general.

Burris makes some excellent rings, just not those.

I'm sure there are those that have had success with them, but with all the quality choices out there, I wouldn't spend the effort to "make" those work.
