1006,1026,1046,1066,1066-NS,1076,1076-NS,1076-FBI,1086. 1026 - Same as 1006, but, with frame mounted decocking lever. 1046 - Made in 1992 run of 148. Blued stainless finish with fixed sites, DAO and bobbed hammer.
Thankyou, thats what i was looking for. was the 1026 the predecessor to the 1006 or vice versa? Which came first, the frame or slide mounted decocker? Does the decocker also function as a safety? Are there any 10mm smiths w/ a 1911 type safety?
1006 made from 90-93
1026 made from 90-91 Same as 1006 but with decocking lever on left side of frame in front of the grip.
The decocker allows the hammer to be lowered safely. Once you decock, the lever returns to its original position. As such, it is not a safety in the traditional sense of blocking the hammer from going forward if the trigger is pulled. Think revolver.
No 1911 type safety on any 10 that I'm aware of.
