I came upon someone who sold me 500 rounds of 5.56 in 20 round boxes.
Looks like Hebrew writing on the boxes.
Upon opening a few, I found mostly Lake City and Winchester head stamps and even a few Twin Cities ammunition plant (which closed in '74) head stamps.
With dates ranging from about 67-79.
All the ammo is in great condition.
Any idea what I got here?

Israili military mixed surplus?

5.56 ball -20
Normal
519-11/90 Series

And then some warning probably about handling.

My only guess is it might have been something that the US military sent over there in different shipments as surplus ammo. And now its making its way back here?

As I posted on the IAA Forum:

Very interesting box. Here's what it says:

20 CARTRIDGES 5.56 M"M

BALL

LOT: ( 90/ 11-519 B"Sh ) (not sure what the B"Sh is, usually Mfg.)

FOR TRAINING ONLY

DOESN'T FIT/NOT FOR THE GLILON

Ammo that had previously been loaded and cycled through mags, a mix of imported ammo returned by a unit to a supply or armorers depot. The Glilon is a short-barreled version of the Galil AR. I do not know why this ammo would not be appropriate for the rifle.
