Interesting trade, what do you think?

I have an opportunity to trade in an HK USPc .45 for either a Dan Wesson .357 with an extra barrel or two (I can't remember how many) or a Dan Wesson .41 with just the one barrel. I do prefer revolvers, and I already own a 1911.
I really worked hard to get the HK, but these revolvers are calling to me.

The HK is worth more than both revolvers put together

Sad but true.

.41's aren't too common though.

Look at it another way. You'll be able to buy a new H&K for years.DW revo's(especially .41 magnums)will likely get harder to find.

I'd do it myself but I'd likely make the revolver guy cough up some more too.

They're right. The revolvers are worth about $300 each depending on condition. Even though they are very good revolvers.

They are right, don't do it! I like the Dan Wesson concept, though my one example sucks. Your gun is worth well more unless you get like 4 extra barrels I would not even consider it. Dan wesson revolvers seem to have poor resale in my area too usually.

The DW kits I've seen at gun shows have been priced really low lately - they look like very good guns, but given the prices I've seen something must be wrong. Never owned one.

I'd get accused of "hate" if I told you of my experiance with a Dan Wesson revolver. Not only is your HK worth as much as both of those Dan Wesson revolvers put together in terms of money, in terms of real and practical value, your HK is worth much more. That's how I feel about it anyway.

Got to agree. The Dan Wesson I owned back in 1980 had a very unsettling habit where one chamber in the cylinder had it's own mind about going off with little or no encouragement. Was going to carry it on patrol but got rid of it. Sad about the 41 Mags. I've got a model 57 that has been given the Nitex (I think this is correct)treatment, looks just like stainless steel. Sure do like that pistol.

Anyway, keep the H&K.
