Good for you "Mr. E".....
When he held and fired the XD did he have that look in his eyes kinda like me in a donut shop????? Recon he is now pro-gun instead of anti-gun??????

I have searched the internet for the past hour trying to find this clip... all i've found is breaking news segments after the shooting happened.

:confused::confused::confused:

OK, someone has to be the bad guy

The News anchor grew up in NY and was not anti-gun, really, but he clearly didn't understand the pro-gun side at all. He'd never fired a handgun and didn't want to......but me and the store clerk convinced him to do it. I gave him mini-lesson starting with safety, etc, then had him shoot 15 rounds total out of the range rental XD-m. He did pretty well, wanted to keep the target and one spent casing.

The same thing has happened with every gun virgin I've taken shooting with me, about 8-10 all told. Each one had a great time, lots of fun and has asked when we could do it again. Four of 'em, one male and three females, have since gotten their own guns and one even has her own carry permit now. The best way to swing 'em over to our point of view is to simply let them shoot. Their stand isn't so firm once they have some fun and see that the all shooters aren't crazed maniacs, despite what they've been told.

David E, I understand, Tilos

Don't ever take me too seriously,
If it were me, I would not supply a link either.
My anonymity is important to me as well.

Thanks again for posting your experience,

Just sayin'

He said things like carbine and musket. To me, it all sounded like, "I can kill you."

When a reporter wrote the above statement in a piece in the Austin American Statesman I immediately wrote him and politely offered to explain to him firearm function, safety and, of course a shooting lesson.

David E was in the right place at the right time and he seized the opportunity. It sounds as though he did a great job of maximizing its potential.

As they do not often present themselves it would behoove us to try to create the occasions to positively influence the press.

David E has inspired me to curb all of my efforts with the press from negative (firing off angry letters for hit pieces and inaccurate reporting) to positive (offering facts and knowledge).
