Introduced my wife to shooting..(and got my CCW permit!)

Hey fellas,

Took my wife to the range yesterday. She's shot like my .22's and stuff, but never a higher powered rifle, or a high power pistol.

She really enjoyed it. She did amazing well with the pistol (.40 Beretta 96). I taught her a few things.

She REALLY enjoyed shooting my SAIGA.. she calls it "the badass gun".. I guess that's ok since I don't exactly know how many watts or what brand her hair dryer is..lol..

She didn't hit quite as well with the 7.62 but she LOVED shooting it. Who doesn't? Fun round, fun gun.

Did I mention that she wore yoga pants to the range? Something about a woman in yoga pants is nice by itself.. but shooting my gun and making me proud.. was pretty stimulating.

On another note, I took my CCW class today.. did well. Gotta wait till next month to get the prints and paperwork from the sheriff.

Now I just have to decide on a holster for the Beretta, and stock up on some 7.62x39 ammo... and hopefully get an AR and a S&W Snubby this year.. and I'm done buying for a while.. I hope..lol.

..Then I'll probably get into reloading (my hour at the range was cut short by the 100 pistol rounds, and 60 AK rounds)

Just make sure that she has a chance to shoot one first. Too many women initially like the cute small guns and then get soured on the muzzle flip/recoil. The extra weight of a bigger gun usually makes for more pleasant shooting unless she is a big girl and can take the extra punishment. I'm not being sexist, just speaking from experience...

Good for you, Gwarghoul. Took my wife and daughter out yesterday. They both love shooting my daughter's self-sealing/spinning prairie dog target. Much laughter was enjoyed. Guns and family...It's a good thing!
