My wife! She decided on a .38 special months ago, as she had racking slide issues with all semis. She has always been very nervous when she went with me to "witness" just behind me, at the indoor range. She was very jumpy because of the muzzle blast and concussions from my XD-S.

Took her to the range yesterday, and she did quite well! Took a long time to find some .38 special target ammo, so we both packed our range bags and had a blast. She was grinning from ear-to-ear. She purchased a sidearm that had a free year NRA membership, and she finished that out and sent it in.

She has morphed from my wife who was completely scared of sidearms, to a fellow shooter who could not put-down her new weapon. She seemed disappointed that the 50 round box emptied, so I broke out the XD-S to have my turn. She still stands far away from me (back wall) when I shoot it, and have tried all manner of coaxing her into shooting it again (she shot it once), but she evidently realized it was too much gun for her, so I quit pushing.

Seriously, what better shooting partner may one have than their wife?

Win-win!.
