I took my little brother to the range today.
He is 16 and had shot a 22 once.
We shot my CZ 452 Lux, Mauser 98/22 and Swedish Mauser.
All iron sights, at 100 yards.
I had my spotting scope on the ajacent table and started him off with the 22, calling his shots and giving advice on hold and shooting position.
By the end of the afternoon he was happily and accurately thunking away with the 196g S&B in the 98/22.
I was impressed.
He's still impressionable so I wanted to start him with the classics.
When he's a good shot and knows the ropes the AR, AK and SLR will come out to play.
