Is the AA-12 for real? It looks like a made-up prop for a sci-fi movie, like those goofy M1 Carbine monstrosities in "Planet of the Apes."

Yes, it was on Future Weapons. You can see that episode and other demonstrations of it on YouTube. And yes it is dog ugly. The reason it is so un godly is because it has a built in recoil reduction device. Shoots very smoothly in full auto compared to the 12g Ak47's.I would rather have the Saiga than either of those and i am an AR fan.
