Hi Guys,

Looking for recomendations on IPSC/USPSA training videos? I've been bitten by the bug, HARD..

Managed a 2.155 hit factor first match, somehow brought it up to a 3.125 my second match..

I know with some work I could do much better, was going to just wing it, but I figured there must be something out there with drills, tips, etc..

Leo

Get the Matt Burkett DVD Series if you can - they're good. (I like DVDs better anyway because you can replay areas that you want to work on easier than a video) The content on these is very good and so is the quality.

I would also suggest you get them from BrianEnos.com - good people to deal with and if your into IPSC its a good site for information.

The Burkett series 1-4 are good , as is the Burner series of tapes, and Ron Avery's series of tapes. also interesting is Todd Jarretts video. Also be sure to get Brian Enos book and J. Michael Plaxco's book on shooting..both are good reading full of information on how to shoot better.

Then if you can...get some personal instruction...nothing like having one them watch you shoot for a few days to find areas to improve. Todd Jarrett, Matt Burkett, Ron Avery, Jerry Barnhart all still teach..Rob Leatham has been known to have a class now and then.

Good luck..

Thanks for the info so far lots, and lots of video's..

I guess I was wondering which one does the best job of going over the basics/fundementals?

Not really looking for super advanced topics, just trying to build a good foundation.

Thanks,
Leo

Hey guys, thanks for the support and the mentions of the videos.

Leo,

Get all the info you can and compare it against each other and see what works for you. You may like one instructors style significantly more than another and that may help your shooting more.

If you want a complete run down of what is on my tapes, stop by my website and take a look. BTW there are also a bunch of free shooting tips to help you get going and then you can check out the forums on my site and on Brian Enos's site as there is a ton of info on both.

Also as a side note, you don't like my vids, send'em back. (pretty safe bet for me as we haven't had any returns yet) :)

If you need more help or have any other shooting questions that are bugging you, give me a call sometime.

Take care and good luck with your shooting,

243_Shooter: I can't talk about IPSC specifically, but I can vouch for Matt's training. Just recently I had the pleasure of taking Matt's Speek Skills course in La Crosse, WI. It was an excellent course! Then, this past Sunday at the WI State IDPA match I received his Practical Shooting Vol. 4 DVD as a door prize. Way . I've watched it three times now. From what I've seen in this vol 4 DVD, its far better produced than other instructional videos I've seen. Plus, its on DVD so you can skip to the chapters you want to review; or just get motivated by watching the special features at the end.

(BTW, Matt - you're club membership will go out in the mail next week. Thanks for supporting our club! :) )

Get Brian Enos book 'Beyond Fundamentals'. He is the guru on the mountaintop of practical shooting. That book is great. And it's applicable to alot more than just shooting...

Spend some time lurking at Brian Enos forums on his website, too. Good stuff.

I'm planning on getting Matt's DVD's here just as soon as I can, his 'Practical Shooting Manual' is great too. And he even gives motivational speeking skills classes! Who knew! ;)
