Yep I grew up watching the original television series, so Adam West will always be Batman to me.
As far as the famine, conflicts & genocides in Africa, well there really isnt any vital national interests/national security issues that would force us to act militarily (engage in regime changes, etc).
Sure we send billions of dollars & millions of tons of food in aid to Africa every year, but we've always sort of encouraged the more stable of the African nations to provide the boots on the ground (especially after Somalia) to try to curb the violence & genocide that is raging on their own continent.
Is it fair? is it racist?
I dont think its fair or racist, it would just be political suicide for Congress or the Commander in Chief to engage in major military operation(s) against a nation(s) for purely humanitarian issues when there is no national security issues involved.
