i have owned as many as 10, but i,m down to seven now.
The primary reason to tool up to load 45/70 would be in order to shoot the firearms so chambered
if you are just shooting paper with a shotgun chamber adapter the answer is a resounding no for me.
your 45acp adapter will go bang and put a 45ish hole in a piece of paper exactly like the 45/70 one will. It will just cost less and recoil less.
Either I'm absolute garbage shooting slugs or the slugs I shot were not good in my shotgun or my shotgun doesn't like slugs, but whatever it is slugs in the shotgun I have are not an option. If the shotgun chamber adapter is the way to shoot it then I would just shoot slugs, but they are pretty expensive range fodder at the moment.
Regulation would be a bit of a question. You can probably hold pretty decent groups with a single barrel, but the two barrels together maynot (or they may, again without trying hard to tell), shoot to the same poa.45-70 I can shoot twice or thrice that distance
50 bucks for 20rnds aint THAT bad......50$ a bix of 20
There's nothing that says I have to use two inserts in each barrel, if I find that one barrel shoots very poorly compared to the other then I'll just leave it as a de facto combination gun.Regulation would be a bit of a question. Which ones? I havent seen any yet, and that would move my double rifle project along significantly. There are 45-70 inserts that are adjustable for poa

probably MCA....tho I could be wrong.... I looked their insert options a while back and they are well thought of, ill check to see if getting and adjustable one is an optionCan't remember the name, the guy making them is up in Alaska.
Don't think it was them, dad had a set years ago. They were 200-250 each back then, I did see other adjustable ones somewhere. Pedersoli used to make some to.probably MCA....tho I could be wrong.... Being the owner of an MCA and having seen the Chaszel adapters, the Chaszels have a superior fit and finish and cost less too.probably MCA....tho I could be wrong.... I looked their insert options a while back and they are well thought of, ill check to see if getting and adjustable one is an option

And even if they were I'd only go out to maybe 100 yards with them, with the .45-70 I can shoot twice or thrice that distance.
Good to know, my 9mm adapter is a Chaszel and ive been very happy with it.Being the owner of an MCA and having seen the Chaszel adapters, the Chaszels have a superior fit and finish and cost less too.
The only thing from MCA that I would buy now is the rifle adapters to shoot .22 LR in a .223 or .32 or .30 Carbine in .308, that sort of thing. For anything shotgun, if you can get it from Chaszel go with them.
Ive never tried to shoot groups with mine.....Im running gobbler sights on the rib of my 20, and while i have little issue hitting a 3" spinner at 50yds, i cant shoot groups with opens. What kind of accuracy are people getting with these things? I wouldn’t have thought they would hold POI that well.
