Is a boycott reasonable?

Well their prices never were cheap, and every time I use a search engine to find something the web page that pulls up for them says "we're sorry but we're no longer selling this product" or something similar.

I'll never buy from them.

You're going to boycott because they're reviewing their order processing procedures? Why are shooters so itchy to hang their own out to dry??? How would you like for people to boycott your company every time you examine the way you do business???

IMHO, crap like this is no better than the kneejerk emotional reactions so common with our political enemies. Grow up.

PS, I've been ordering .22LR ammo from CTD for a dollar or two less per bulk pack than I can get it at Walmart.

First of all, I don't have a company, I'm retired. Secondly, all I did was post a news release CTD sent out (don't kill the messenger) to let others know about it and state what I was going to do and didn't suggest anyone else follow my lead. Who of us is displaying a knee-jerk reaction and needs to grow up?

Dont worry about it, craigc always has to have a soapbox to stand on.

...all I did was post a news release CTD sent out...
Unless my eyes deceive me, you also posted - "I called and left a message to say I was suspending my purchases for an undetermined time."

Who of us is displaying a knee-jerk reaction and needs to grow up?
And the above is what I was responding to. It's okay, I don't like being told I'm being overly emotional either. Sorry but I'm just tired of all this Chicken Little nonsense.

You have to have a company to understand what it means to have people minding your business???

Got anything meaningful to add to the discussion, or just low road personal comments???

CraigC,

You are missing the point here. Why would CTD need to review their ordering procedures? They have to send any firearm they sell to an FFL dealer already where a 4473 needs to be filled out anyway. The only reason they are doing this IMHO is to kowtow to the antis’ attack on the 2nd Amendment.

Don't know how craigc could've inadvertently left out the part I bolded...

CraigC - "Got anything meaningful to add to the discussion, or just low road personal comments???

Whoa! Low road??? Look at the way you respond to people! If what he said is low road then your road is subterranean.

One can disagree without being disagreeable. I’m guessing that you are full grown, now you just need to mature up.

BTW, I don’t care what you like or dislike. You are just another guy with a keyboard and a podium. If you want respect then give it - you’re negativity is a drag.

Why would CTD need to review their ordering procedures?
Why don't you ask them instead of assuming the worst? We are supposed to be the logical, rational side to this coin and I'm not seeing much logic, reason or rationality.

How do you figure that? Ljnowell's comments stem from another completely unrelated thread and are personal in nature. That's low road. Telling folks to calm down and not jump to conclusions is "subterranean"???

you’re negativity is a drag.
This thread is negative. If my calling it out for what it is, just another kneejerk emotional reaction, then I apologize for getting your drawers bunched up.

...now you just need to mature up.
Or maybe I've been around long enough not to get all bent outta shape over something so trivial.

Don't know how craigc could've inadvertently left out the part I bolded...
He started a negative thread and then acted as if he offered no opinion on the subject. Or didn't you notice???

Look, I don't care what you guys do or who you spend you money with. I just think emotions are high on both sides and that is never a good thing. The emotional reaction to my posts here is clear evidence of this. If my opinion is so inflammatory, then just ignore them and go on about your way. I think shooters are WAAAAAY too itchy to hang their own out to dry and many times for no good reason and this thread is a good example.

I went to Cheaper than Dirt in Allen during a slow day and had a horrible experience. The 5 sales guys were all talking in a group about a movie they've seen, and when i asked them to help me about a firearm they said it wasn't in stock and the guy walked away and continued their small talk. That's why I buy online or their competitor and will never waste my time there again.

Is a boycott reasonable?

Of course it's not reasonable nor is the implication that it might be reasonable. They state rather clearly that they are unable given what's going on, to continue to support a 24 hour shipping policy and given the amount of whining folk throw out there whenever they don't get what they want, when they want it and for the price they think it's worth - I completely get it.

The thread title smacks of the old "Have you stopped kicking your dog yet?" red herring.

So we now have resorted to name calling. We are quickly being drawn to the low road. I can see this thread being shut down shortly. "United we stand, divided we fall."

I'm sure they were horrified at the thought of that.

WTH is so difficult to understand about an online business having computer problems when they are overwhelmed by orders?:scrutiny:

Good grief.

I really don't think it was just the fact they were being overwhelmed by orders. I just think they were submitting to liberal pressure. Remember there are many even in Texas, think Austin. I know of what I speak I have many relatives that live in the state.

My impression is they cannot keep up with the orders using their current processes. It is called continuous process improvement. You try to do it proactively but when something like this happens you must adjust any inefficient processes or you will sink.

Did anybody actually bother to cheak out the actual cheaper than dirt website. It says plain as day in the middle of the first page that "firearm sales WILL resume once they have updated their process"

You have a company that is flooded with orders and business right now. People will complain because it takes 10 days to get their order and then turn around and complain that they are updating their process (hey maybe they are trying to regroup to make sure all their customers are taken care of.)

They WILL resume. Anybody here that has ever worked? Well if you are given more and more work everyday would you just go about your job like you always have or would you try to streamline the way you work to get everything done more efficiently?
