I understand this is purely a personal decision......

What would you prefer:

A matte black (bruniton finish) 92fs for $520 out the door

or

The Inox (stainless version with black polymer levers) that you would have to order for $645 out the door. In your opinion is the stainless worth the extra expense?

I've got the black, a friend bought the "sexy" stainless one his GF wanted. Those come with dull "red" dots on the sights and they didn't help me shoot any better with my older eyes. In fact we both shot better with the white dots that initial outing. While I still can't shoot his Inox much better, he (and she) with their darned 24 year old eyes and good vision have gotten proficient using the red dotted sights that platform has.

I'll stick to white on black. YMMV

Since you're in FL, stainless might be a better choice for you. Out here in the SW desert, I don't have to deal with humidity. (and I prefer black or blue to shiny anyway)

i like the black better, the new inox guns still have the black trigger/controls. i dont like that, the only peice thats stainless is the slide...

I personaly think that nickelplated (stainless and etc.) Beretta 92 is one of the most beautiful semi autos in the world. thats my opinion.

I have a stainless 92FS and I bought a black 92FS for my Dad. Personally I would choose the black over the stainless, as Baba Louie said the sights are red and are harder to see, and as jkomp316 said the safety, magazine release etc. are black and the trigger is also plastic.

If you want a high cap 9mm that shoots accurately, get either a browning highpower, a CZ 75/85 or a G17. All can be had for the same price or less than a beretta 92. All are more accurate.
I learned this by shooting many rounds through all of the above guns. I used to own a 92 FS, I still own all of the others.

beretta prices

It would be worth your while to check out Buds Gun Shop on Line, I,ve had good luck on prices and I receive the guns in 3 days

to answer original question, get INOX for $500.
I got my Brigadier Inox for that price, sold CZ, G17, and P99a.
Still have beretta...

i've considered this before. i concluded that a black gun would be advantageous for a night time gun fight because it doesn't reflect as much. but in the day time a stainless or chrome gun might command more authority and be more intimidating. anyone else ever think this way?

I have my Brigadier Elite and its a POS. I will never buy another Berreta again. If it wasnt a present it would have been long gone along long long time ago.

Yes. I totally agree. I bought the matte black one first, because it was available. But that is definitely on my list of guns to get. Solely for aesthetic reasons, since I already have a matte black 92.
