Is Browning's Hi-power an improvement over his 1911 design?

I have never cared for the Browning . 1911 fits me fine and what I own most of. No interest in a double stack 9mm I have a 9mm Commander.

In some ways it is. In others, not.

The increased magazine capacity without a huge increase in size is an improvement.

The trigger and magazine safety most definitely are NOT.

I own both, have carried both and like both.
