Because the answer for me is a resounding YES!

I had a Bulgy AK-74 kit that I wanted built for me by Overland Industries awhile ago, and I was dithering about going thru the hassle and money of having the builder make it into a SBR(short barrel Rifle).

At the time I talked myself out of it, and had them just build me a standard rifle. Don't get me wrong, Gary at Overland eventually built me an amazing gun. I am very pleased with how it came out. He built the AK I have wanted for some time and it was one of the better gun buying experiences I have had in the past few years.

Lately though I have been watching how different news media, citizens, and politicians are literally slavering at the thought of an Obama presidency and that really worries me. This guy is NO friend to gun-owners at all, in fact I believe that any anti-gun legislation that hits his desk will be signed so fast his pen will explode from the friction.

Given that it looks like a VERY bad election cycle nation-wide for the Republicans in Congress, a large Democratic majority that will stifle fillibusters and dissent coupled with a rabidly anti-gun President could spell terrible changes to Federal NFA policy.

In other words, I realized that it would be very prudent to get my AK-74 SBR'ed NOW, than taking a chance on losing the ability to do so in the future.

I am now getting everything lined up to have Overland do the work on my gun.

So the question I have is, is anyone else going ahead and doing something similar before the political winds change for the worse?

Are you getting something SBR'ed now that you would've put off otherwise, is it time to finally scrape up the funds to get a certain automatic weapon you have always wanted, or is there a suppressor that is just begging you to take it home before the election is over?

I'm just curious to how other gunfolk are thinking.

how about the other option........no as with all other Oboma threads this one will get locked too.

Oops, I never even thought about a possible Obama discussion prohibition.

My bad, and if I ruffled any feathers please accept my apologies.
