Is the 870 worth the cost over a pardner pump?

Gondorian,

The Pardner pump is an excellent buy and will do everything that you can expect it to do.

What it WILL NOT do is have you using a bore brush to hone out the chamber and make you spend money to try different ammo just to get it to work.

I have two of them and I am impressed with how they are built and how they function.

I have no doubt that these two guns will last a long time.

They are overbuilt guns that function fine that can be had for way less than the competitive makes.

This gun breeds a squabble any time it's mentioned on these boards and it's easy to get off topic.

My vote goes for the Pardner Pump for a gun that will do what it's intended to do with out jumping through hoops to get it to work, like reaming chambers and eating up ammo.

As with all shotguns, there is a break in period and the nice feature of the Pardner is that it will not be broken before you break it in, as has been the case with the Remington Express shotguns.
