I built a very nice AR this winter. Decided I didn't really need it or want it. Sent it to a gun show this weekend and did not even get a nibble. The rifle was priced correctly - - I thought. I was asking $1650 for it (about $75 less than I have in it) I don't have to sell it and I'm certainly not gonna give it away. But I didn't feel that I was gouging either.

It's a Sabre Defence lower with the Doublestar complete upper. It has the J&T quad rail, very nice rear iron sight, front handle, collapsible rear stock, (4) 30 round P mags, Ceiner 22lr conversion kit w/2 Blackdog 30 rd mags. Also was including a EO tec 553 (Chinese clone) and carry case.

Has everybody that wants one - bought one? Or are people just looking for bargains now?

I looked at completed auctions for the last 60 days on Gunbroker - and there is not a ton of them selling - a bunch listed and re-listed - but they're not selling.

Any thoughts?

You can go to a gun store and buy an AR today for $1000-$1700 depending on features. S&W, Stag, et cetera. If you are asking $1650 for something built by an unknown quantity (you) while Cabela's is asking $1400 for the "same thing" (remember, people aren't counting your accessories...sell the Ceiner separately if you don't want to give it away) guess who is going to get the sale.

Supply and demand... Demand is falling and supply is increasing. Plus employed people are dropping like flies.

People are picky. I'd try selling everything seperate if it were me. There are only so many people who are looking for a Sabre Defence lower with the Doublestar complete upper. J&T quad rail, rear iron sight, front handle, collapsible rear stock, (4) 30 round P mags, Ceiner 22lr conversion kit w/2 Blackdog 30 rd mags. and a EO tec 553 (Chinese clone)/ carry case.

However, I'm sure Joe Smoe is looking for a double star lower, and Steve Smeve might pick up a chinese clone Eotech etc etc...

Based on what I'm seeing on Texas Gun Trader, people are starting to unload their ARs, plus stores are starting to get their stocks resupplied. Local Academy stores regularly have at least 1 if not more ARs on the shelf. Carters Country has a half-dozen.

It appears that either the economy is forcing people to sell them (most are NIB) or they want part of the sellers market. Unfortunately for them, like the dot-com stocks, the bubble may have burst.

Good luck.
