Is the S&W 410S a good gun?

Hi everyone...I just saw a NIB S&W 410S (.40 cal) with C/T laser grips for $769.00. I tried to find more info on this gun from the S&W website but nothing was listed for it. Can anyone let me know if this gun is worth the price and if it is a good gun or not? I can't find too much info on it but it sure looks and feels good. Any shooting impressions? Accuracy/Reliability? Thanks for the help and information...much appreciated.

I have the 910s, which is the 9mm version of that gun. Mine does not have the laser grips. The 410/910 platform is part of S&W's value line. They cut a few corners and used lesser materials to bring the price point down. With that said, my 910s has been absolutely perfect. It's reasonably accurate and the trigger is just OK, but I just like the darn thing.

I think the price of the one you are looking at may be a bit high, but I'm sure if you buy it you will not be dissapointed.

The big gun show I went to 3 weeks ago had 908S, NIB, for $425. That's the same as the one you're looking at except for calibre. I haven't priced the grips, but I don't think the CT grips would make up that much difference in the price. However, the guns are very good. Worth $769 with the CTs? Not to me.

That seems a bit over priced. The gun itself can be had for about $400 most places and I don't think the laser grips are worth $369. But its really up to you.

I agree with E5.

I also have a 910 and it has been flawless. Not a single jam or failure of any kind. In fact, I would never have guessed it was part of any value line unless someone had said something. In fact, mine is my home defense gun.

I grabbed mine for $350 used, fwiw.

I've got the 410 and really like it. It shoots anything and has a real short reset. Nice gun.

Even with the laser grips, that price sounds way high. Especially for a "Value Line" gun that is supposed to be sold at a reduced price.

It is a good sidearm, but I don't think that is a good price at all. I bought a used 4046 TSW for $325 just last year. Keep your eyes out and you will be able to find one for a lot less.

The 410 is a good pistol; it's not a tack driver but it accurate enough, and reliable. I think the price is a bit high though.
