Is the slide for the brigadier/Elite compatible with the normal Beretta 92FS?

I would like to put a brigadier/Elite slide on my 92FS but i do not want to buy the slide unless I know it's compatible. Has anyone out there switched out the slides?

I just purchased a complete upper from CDNN for my 92FS and it worked perfectly. The slide I got is a .40 S&W caliber with night sights and is called the Centurion, which is a little shorter than the full length slide. (Is the full length one called the Brig?)

Hope this helps you some. Maybe somebody else can be more specific.

critter - the brig slide is heavier and thicker then the regular slide but it is the same length.

I have an elite (brig slide).
It fits on other 92 and 96 series frames I have.
I never shot it but have examined all the frames, they seem the same (except for my centurion frame).

if no answers pop up here try the berettaforum.net

I think you guys might have the answer for me! Will a .40SW barrel, slide, and mag fit into a 9mm frame? Seems to me they would.

I don't think it will. I would not recommend doing that. Even if it would fit, you'd have to probably change your extractor and such.

They sell an 40 upper that is suppose to work on the 9mm frame at CDNN. I actually have one that I haven't shot it yet. Upper slides on, fits tight, and passes all function tests. Haven't fired it yet simply because I think it looks a little funny in my case because I have an OD color 92FS and the 40 upper is blue Centurion. Which has of course given me the excuse to find and buy a standard 96FS used at a low price so I can switch uppers around for the fun of it. Some people have to fool their wives in round about ways to justify another purchse...I have no excuse....I have to fool myself. :)

USAF Combat Arms,

Beretta's official answer is No. But give Ernest Langdon a call.

Oh, why on earth do you want a Brigadier slide?? You know they are heavier and WHEN the slide comes off and hits you in the forehead, you want that thing to have MORE mass???? THAT IS IF YOUR LOCKING BLOCK DOESN'T BREAK FIRST!!!!

Unh, Mr. aBilly:

F=M*A. The Brigadoon slide, being heavier, will hit your head at a proportionally lower velocity than the standard slide.

Additionally, since the force of the slide is proportional to the force of the 9mm round itself, which I have read on Ninja forums is barely sufficient to raise a welt on whatever it contacts, the slide will have roughly the same impact as a butterfly kiss.

How'd I do?

That's not true. The Navy SEALs use 9mm! It must work. But only from a Sig P226. 9mm from a Beretta is useless. That's why LAPD authorized Glock.

There's a reason why the Berettas in Counter-Strike are .40 and not 9mm. It's because 9mm Berettas fail to stop.

Beretta haters love to go on about the slide breaking thing. There is a whole story to that, and many misconceptions. There is nothing wrong with the design. Beretta haters will always be haters, so no point in me getting into the REAL version.

There is nothing wrong with the design.

Then why does LAPD SWAT use the 1911 instead???

Joking aside, USAF Combat Arms, I think the slides should be interchangeable. When I had my Vertec, I think I put my Elite II slide on it.

I have a .22 upper that goes between my Berettas. I think they all fit each other. There is a kit that is not imported to the US, that has both the 9mm and .40 (or maybe that funky 9x21 caliber) slides. It's single action too, way cool.

For some reason, Beretta won't import it. Go figure.

PS did you know Jet Li, Jackie Chan, the SKUNK, and other Chinese people can strip your Beretta? Better work on those weapon retention techniques!!!

Pshaw - You forgot Michelle Yeoh. She can strip my Beretta any old time.

But only from a Sig P226. 9mm from a Beretta is useless. That's why LAPD authorized Glock.

I can't compete in this league - skulking off....
:p

Weapon Retention?

If I run into any chinese in a dark alley, skunk, I'll be sure to not let them get that close.

That is one of the major disadavantages to the beretta. That is by far the only thing that I don't like.

Combat Arms, don't worry about the Chinese people...we only go into dark alleys looking for stray cats, not to pick fights

Man. I'm hungry.

Did you call Ernest?

Note the 40sw requires slight feedramp adjustment and I believe that's why you have 40sw frame that can have 9mm slight but not otherway around. usually not a problem if you stay in same caliber.
