Is there a worldwide right-to-carry map?

They have less restrictive legislation than Australia supposedly but was talking with a mate who lives in Auckland, NZ and he told me that they had to shoot at least once EVERY MONTH in order to retain their license to keep pistols. They have to store ammunition and guns in separate secure areas.

That is completely ridiculous. You decide to go visit Europe or somewhere else on the other side better make sure you are back in time to have shot at your club otherwise you lose your license/pistols.

NZ & Oz is on the same road to the destination the U.K. arrived at - no guns allowed here, the police/surveillance state will protect you

Concealed carry is completely forbidden in NZ and definitely in Oz.

I would have thought that certain countries in central/south america had more favourable gun laws?

outside of the U.S. you have to be politically connected or have substantial disposable income to carry a gun by law.
I was poor student when I got my ccw licence (and then spent 4 years carring gun to school). After all we have more ccw licences per capita than Texas :neener:
Slovakia and Estonia are two other European countries with more-or-less shall issue ccw in Europe.

I think what we have arrived at here is the possibility that there are a number of countries where CCW is possible.

For the Czech republic, a foreigner can obtain CCW, you have to go through the same process as a Czech citizen, but you can have a translator help you through the process.

I remember researching European CCW laws when I was contemplating a move a couple years ago.

Someone mentioned Bulgaria and I believe they are similar. I think it would be really helpful if we could get a sticky posting foreign gun laws. I know we have a couple members on the board who can translate for us.

The biggest issue is dealing with the US State Department to get your guns out of the country. Just try and explain to the lady on the other end that you have silencers- yes, legally- and you went to bring them with you to the Czech Republic if and when you move.

My thinking exactly.
Basically, the US, Italy, Some of Spain, some of Skandinavia, All of Africa (no laws are enforceable, so there are no laws)
Venezuela, maybe a couple of others, but not many.

Much of Honduras, as well. Know or pay the local cop a few lemps? (or even better, US dollars.) You are good. The local cops often don't even have cars. The PD often doesn't have cars. Or phones. Yeah, it's not a wonder why the mainland is a scourge of crime. The islands are pretty good, as the local PDs support the locals who defend themselves.
