Is there any 100% American made gun companies left?

Sort of. JMB was working under contract for Colt at the time. That makes it a Colt product designed by Colt people. Of course, it wasn't designed just by JMB or Colt people. It went through over 40 changes required by the military. So it was a joint design effort.

You are, of course, absolutely right. However, I submit that we call the Hi-Power a JMB design, despite the fact that JMB was also under contract by FN for that pistol as well. Also since JMB later sold the rights to the 1911 design to Colt, does that not tell us that he had significant IP that Colt did not have?

i really consider calling the Hi-Power a JMB design a stretch, considering it had 10 (?) years of development at FN after JMB passed on. Did he work on it yes? Is the end point anything like what it was when he passed? No.

Savage hasn't been mentioned. I think they are similar to Ruger in that everything is done here in the US, probably from foreign steel.

Savage does (or did) import .22's from Canada after they bought out Lakefield.

Add in NAA
NAA mini-revolvers meet the OP's "100%" requirement. However, NAA Guardian pistols use magazines made by Mec-gar (because they are good). Guardian mags have "Made in Italy" on them.

What about the home-grown "Lienad" line of fun guns?
.

Ruger's LCP mags are marked "Made In Italy." So, like other gun manufacturers out there, they outsource parts as well...

If LCP mag's are made in Italy, it is certainly, without doubt, the rare exception for Ruger.

MecGar is the OEM for just about every mag for production guns the way Briley is the OEM for choke tubes - nothing wrong with that

Based on an article in this month's Guns'n'Ammo, Taurus is now 100% American-made (don't know if they're American-OWNED, though). Their factory and CEO are here in the US of A.

And the same works in the car industry - most foreign-owned companies employ more folks here than the US folks - so what?

Seems really ironic, especially when you look at the shotgun section and most folks there want the absolute cheapest POS regardless of where it is made to defend their life with - really is a joke

You get what you pay for - you want quality, please be prepared to pay for it
