Is there something like this but better?

Do you know of a scope like this, but better? I'd really like this compact style, 3-9, tough, and from a company that produces a little better product? I have been looking but not finding a whole lot.

Know of anything?

For $199 (SWFA.com) you can get a Millett DMS-1, great scope, its a little bigger and is 1-4x but the glass is going to be waaaay clearer than a NC Star. The Millett has an illuminated donut-style reticle with 10 (i think) brightness levels. What type of rifle are you putting it on?

Well I guess the two big questions are, what is your budget and what is you intended usage for the rifle? I know a guy who runs a Burris XTR on his AR and loves it.

I also have a friend that runs ACOGs on his ARs. I assume we are taking about an AR here.

Intended purpose would be hunting mostly. I like the compact style though.
It will be mounted on my RRA LAR-8.
