Tony, you are right about the AD and Larue mounts - actually they have interchangeable detachable rings....so if you change scopes later that requires it, you only need buy rings not a whole new mount. But you are also correct that both of these mounts are high end items - best cost effective one on the market if you don't mind it not having quick release is the Burris PEPR IMO. On a seperate note, I'd go with a cantilevered mount on these types of scope on th AR platform - rings alone will likely not allow correct eye relief.Unless I'm mistaken, both American Defense and Larue make 1" versions of their mounts, but then again, I don't know if the OP is going to want to spend as much on the mount as he does on the scope. For his purposes, he may do just as well with a set of warne permanent mount rings.
