Is this a common assumption?

A question I've gotten a couple of times is "How do you reconcile owning guns and being a Christian?"

What's there to reconcile?

If you're asked this, have them read the old testament! And I'll ask my friend that's a pastor why he got his gun recently and keeps it on him whenever he can, while he lives in a town that has a huge drug issue and has had cars and property stolen several times... Or you could just ask the person why they feel the two are mutually exclusive.

all life IS sacred!

That is why I am careful to choose the right deer and use the whole animal, as much as I can, and I thank Our Lord for his gift to me. And I never kill game that I am not going to eat, unless it tries to kill me first, we do have lions in Kansas, or it is obviously rabid.

A couple of years back my wife and I were celebrating her birthday along with her friends who is an aclu lawyer. My wife shows this gal her birthday present from me, a NAA .22 cal revolver. My firend says something about living in fear. I looked at her and said "oh come on Marilyn do you really believe that I live In fear?". Explanation I stand 73" and weigh 300Lbs and am a veteran Cavalry Sgt. ex- police/deputy. She realized that she was parroting leftwing psychobabble and capitulated that I and my wife probably do not live in fear.

Yes - All life is sacred...

until the owner of that life acts in a way that threatens MY sacred life (or a loved one).

A good comeback to this liberal is to quote, "Love thy neighbor as thyself", or "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Then explain that if you decided to kill/rob/rape another person, you would fully expect them to take your life before you did it.

I get this a lot from a fellow Christian online. I know it's just an AIM chat, but every time I mention guns I can feel the contempt in his words.
It's like he looks at me like a pagan or something.
"So I got to try out one of those new .17 rifles the other day. Shot a bottle."
"I bet that made your day..."

>_<

Conversations with Antis

The new issue of 'Concealed Carry' Magazine has an excellent article by a retired female psychiatrist on 'Rage Against Gun Owners' (or something like that) in which she explores the thinking and logic antis use and makes some very good and practical suggestions for 'turning them around'.

I suggest reading it. Very good stuff. www.concealedcarrymagazine.com

I love it when liberal say this..

I always agree! And then ask them if that includes a fetus.
