Is this kosher

Technically speaking, no mammal or bird that has been killed by shooting is Kosher. A shot pig, cow, camel, deer, horse, or chicken are all the same under kosher rules. You might as well enjoy a ham and cheese sandwich; it's no better or worse.

However, if you shot and killed a fish (with scales and fins), you could eat it, as it's the only verterbrate that is inherently Kosher regardless of how you kill it, including strangulation, asphyxiation, or simply, smacking it on the head. You can even eat it with dairy.

Note to would be Kosher Hunters: Shooting fish might be okay with your local Rabbi, but you'd be breaking the law.
