I was searching for a deep carry pocket clip for a Benchmade knife. Did a search for "Benchmade" and this site popped up.

No pocket clips, but they are showing some discounted prices on selected knives. Seems too good to be true.

I did find what I was looking for here. Notice the slight difference in web address.

I wouldn't buy anything from a company pretending to be another.

If they come up first in a search engine, they did that on purpose.

Guess you could email Benchmade and ask if it's a legit site.

Probably a scam. Scam Detector gives it a 4.8/100 for trustworthinness (out of a desired 100%). For comparison, Benchmade.com ranks 100%

Domain is registered in Iceland, less than 1 month old.
Company and website contacts are hidden.

The website graphics all look good, but the prices just look too good. I'm not interested in buying another knife at the moment anyway and I couldn't find what I was looking for there. That is when I became suspicious. The slightly different web address was another clue.

I'm going with a scam. Hopefully this will get around as a warning to others.

I don't know but your question reminded me of a very similar one as mine a while back.

The answer to my question back then was....

When I 1st clicked on the link I thought it had taken me directly to a Benchmade web page showing discounted knives. It's not unusual to not go directly to the homepage so that wasn't a surprise While some of the prices looked good that wasn't what I was looking for. I knew Benchmade sold accessories, extra clips, clothing etc. but I could never find a page showing any of that. I knew it had to be there somewhere. That was the 1st red flag.

Finding a discount on a discontinued knife wouldn't be unheard of. But the more I looked they were showing deep discounts on popular knives that shouldn't be selling that cheap. That was the 2nd red flag.

Then I noticed benchmadenet.com instead of simply benchmade.com. When I manually typed in www.benchmade.com I found the real website.

Looking closer at the fake Benchmade website and the real one I've found some subtle differences. The fake site header is blue with white lettering. The real one is white with black letters.

Since they accept credit cards , I'd say yes but you can also do a deeper dive to verify!
Processing time 10-14 days?
Accepting credit cards means nothing. Your charge gets to their bank, they give you a long processing time, they.get their money, close the account and most likely you get nothing.

Someone mentioned the website.is registered in Iceland. That along with 10-14 days processing leads me to believe its a Chinese scam.

If you're lucky you'll wind up with a Chinese copy of the knife. Unlucky you lose your money and at best get an email that production hasn't caught up with production and that's all.

The website graphics all look good,...

And often when they are stolen, they look fantastic!

Given that 10 and 12 year olds can design some pretty amazing websites, the only reason why the appearance of the website should come into play is when it looks terrible and/or doesn't function properly. A good looking website says nothing about trustworthiness.

Fairly sure these are chinese knockoff's. I was gifted an auto Osborne from an internet pal that he got from an outfit called usabenchmade.com. To be fair to the company they made it right for him by sending him an actual BM, letting him keep the fake, and reducing his cc charge, so he actually made out. He took this photo of the 2 side by side. The one on the left is the KO that he sent to me. It's hard to see from looking at the photo but the blade on the KO is about 3/16" too short for the handle and it's marked S30V but it's too soft. Also, the grinds are slightly different, and the handle color is off. Other than that, it's a pretty good copy, fires hard with a nice smooth action, feels good in the hand and the box looks genuine. He said that if it hadn't been for the short blade he probably never would've questioned it, until he sharpened it anyway. These scammers are talented and it's getting pretty difficult to spot these fakes.

The button is also misplaced and is the wrong size. Although, I have to admit I like the way the KO has done the button better than the original.

too good to be true.
Yep

Look at the About, Privacy, and Terms of Service information and you would know to run.

I found a "too good to be true" with some items out of stock elsewhere, but for the listed closeout sale price (Maxpedition knives). I was eager to grab them before they got gone like everywhere else and then I noticed some irregularities. They'd lifted their media from another website (including the closeout prices). DING DING DING! Warning Will Robinson. So I collected a bunch of screen grabs from both sites, terms, abouts, etc. and bought a knife with PayPal. Then I turned them in to PayPal in a dispute showing they were a scam. Turns out they'd cloned a card account for a shop in NJ and were running "sales" through the poor lady's online biz account and siphoning the money and hiding the sales (dunno how, but she sent me an email thanking me for uncovering the thing). PayPal blocked them as well. Oh, and I had my "money" back in no time.
