Is XD the only gun that won’t fire if it is out of battery?

A "disconnector" is typically a trigger piece that retains the hammer before the trigger is reset. It has nothing directly to do with an ability to fire out of battery. Being able or unable to fire out of battery would have nothing to do with full auto, intended or not.

Shooting out of battery!

JR47 talked about the 1911 not firing if out of battery. Let me add one more item also to his good advice. On full length Guide Rod 1911s, the tip of the guide rod may keep you from pushing the slide back, as the rod might stop you, especially on guns that have a rod slightly long. This is one reason a lot of shooters change to a spring and cap set-up. This allows a person to force back the slide to clear a malfunction ,as a stuck casing, by finding a solid object and pushing the slide back using the area of the spring cap just under the barrel.
