A guy locally has one of these for sale here, does anybody know what the approximate value of this gun is? Judging by the picture it looks to be in excellent shape, wood looks great, I seen some of these online and they can look a little rough. He's asking $350 for it. Thanks

$300-350 depends on condition. No more than $400. However, I like mine enough that I will not sell if less than $400! it is the only Enfield in the world in 7.62NATO. I paid $160 for mine 5-6 yrs ago. May not want to shoot 308 commercial thru it since it is chambered for 7.62x51 and head spaced more generous than 308.

I got one and sold it years ago. It was a crxp shoot, it didnt group well. The parts were crudely designed and simple. Glad i disposed of it. Now my experience might be different from others. I would gladly swap it for a Mosin Nagant 91/30 or M 39 anytime of the day.

I had one for a few years and sold it because it did not fit into my shooting, but it was fun, and my first centerfire rifle. It was heavy but no more than any other SMLE-type. I ran 308 and 7.62x51 ammo.

Reliable with a couple exceptions. The mag latch on mine was worn, and the mag hung a little low so it would not feed reliably unless the mag was supported. Yes, I disclosed this when I sold it. Spare mags were hard to get so I did not experiment but should have been an easy fix. Also, it grouped ok, until the front sight blade worked loose. Easy to fix, just annoying when I shoot someone else's target at the range. Oops.

Too me, it would not be worth $350 as a shooter but it certainly has novelty value.

I picked up a 1966 Ishy Enfield 4 years ago for $200 and sold it last year for $300. I liked the rifle but hated the tiny notch rear sight. I spent the better part of a year looking for a reasonably priced Parker-Hale or one of the Aussie rear peeps...but I never found one that cost less than $250!

I've still got mine. She's a keeper.
I picked her up at a gunshow here in Phoenix years ago for the grand total of $100 with a 100 rounds of 7.62 and a Enfield bayonet.
Gotta love a 11 round bolt action 7.62 that can spit out 11 shots almost as fast as a semi auto.

Well I picked it up today, really nice gun, wood is gorgeous. Bore is in great shape, pretty happy with it. No black paint or cosmo on it, somebody has cleaned it up nicely, no bayonet though but she's a keeper.

Not bad from what I can see, I have three of them, $200 is the most ever gave for one but that was years ago..........Good Luck With Her................We expect a range report !.........

I doubt you can find a decent one for $200 anymore, I feel pretty good about my $300 deal considering the really good(not great though) condition of the rifle.

It seems you are happy with the deal, which regardless of what others may say, is all that is important. Good luck and good shooting.

Regards,
Stubb.
