Ishapore Mags... 12 And 10 Rounds
The Ishapore factory supplied the guns with one 12 round mag. The front edge of the mag has a feed ramp. This feed ramp was put in the mag more as a spacer because the gun was originally designed for the British .303 round which is longer than the .308. Rather than shorten the whole receiver, bolt carrier, stock, … they put the spacer (feed ramp) in the front of the magazine. The 10 round magazines are made in the USA by Promag. They don't feed as smoothly as the original mags, but they work pretty well. The feed ramp does actually help feed the round smoother than the US mags without the ramp. You will have to file the catch on the rear of the mag so it fits in your gun. This only takes about 5 minutes with a Dremel, 10 minutes with a hand file! The US made mags aren’t the usual crappy quality that Promag is known for. At first I was disappointed that my only mag option was by Promag, but I was plesently surprised by the quality when I saw them. Don’t pay more than $25.00 for the Promags and $35.00 for the originals. As far as removing them and re-installing the mags like a modern firearm, I personally see no problem with it, and I haven’t had any problems.
P.S. you can get a shooters grade gun with a cracked stock for $100.00 sell the stock on e-bay for $20-$30, and buy a new plastic ATI stock for $65.00.
For only about $135.00 you can have a pretty good rifle that shoots a modern NATO round!
